The Ghana Education Education (GES) has stated that there will be no transfer for teachers in the Service for the year 2021.

Director General of Ghana Education Service; Prof. Kwasi Opoku-Amankwah has indicated that any teacher who wishes to put in a request for transfer this year will have to wait till a latter date of 2022.

He cited the change in academic calendar from trimester to semester bases as the reason for this decision by the Service.

He made this revelation in an interview he granted United Television’s (UTVs) “Mpu Ne Mpu” morning show.

Although transfer window for teachers used to be opened in May and June, Prof. Kwasi Opoku-Amankwah in his submission stated that things have changed, especially for the year 2021 as there has been restructuring of the academic calendar.

He however noted that January 2022 will be a suitable year for any teacher who wishes to be transferred to put in their request.
