NTC Is Not An Enemy Of Teachers
Dr. Addai-Poku; Executive Secretary for the National Teaching Council (NTC) has stated that its outfit is not an enemy of teachers but rather, a part of teachers.
He made this revelation during an encounter with the Colleges of Education Weekly Journal. During this time, he made it known to those present that the Ghana Teachers Licensure Examination (GTLE) is one of the Council’s eminent priorities.
Explaining this, he said the acquisition of a license by a teacher enables him to be recognized both locally and in the international space.
“NTC is not an enemy of teachers but rather a part of teachers. It is to enhance our profession and give us both national and international recognition”, he stated.
He however established that the Ghana Teachers Licensure Examination certificate (GTLE) introduced by the National Teaching Council (NTC) should not be seen as punishment to teachers. Instead, it should be seen as something to raise status of their profession.
“Trainee teachers should not antagonize the licensure exams. Let’s work together to perfect it so that it will earn them the recognition they deserve”, he concluded.
The general public is to note that the National Teaching Council on Jan. 5, 2021, released the much awaited for results for candidates who sat for the 2020 GTLE examination.
