Mfantsiman SHS Adjudged Winners Of 2020 Edition Of Onga Cook Art Competition

The competition, organized by the Ghana Education Service (GES) dubbed Onga Cook Art saw the girls of Mfantsiman Senior High School crowned winners of this year’s edition.

This was the 2nd edition of the competition and it took place at the premises of Labone Senior High School in the Greater Accra Region.

Just like the National Science & Maths Quiz (NSMQ), schools had to compete with each other at the Regional stage to make their way through to the national stage to have the chance of being adjudge winner.

Only 25 schools made it to the national stage after competing at the Regionals. The competition saw only 5 schools making it to the grand finale.

These 5 schools were Aburi Girls SHS, Mfantsiman SHS, Archbishop Porter Girls SHS, Ghana SHS and Kumasi Anglican SHS.

At the final stage of the competition, participants from these 5 schools were tasked to prepare a starter and a main meal.

For the understanding of those who might not know what a starter and a main meal is, a starter is a small dish of food or a drink taken before a meal or the main course of a meal.

These tit-bits of food are known to increase appetite and thus known as Appetizers, which is just English to the French word Apéritif or Hors d’oeuvre or simply a Starter in colloquial.

On the other hand, a main meal is the main dish is usually the heaviest, heartiest, and most complex or substantial dish in a meal.

The main ingredient is usually meat, fish or another protein source. It is most often preceded by an appetizer, soup or salad, and followed by a dessert.
