WASSCE 2020 Fees: Government Absorbs Fees For 313,837 WASSCE 2020 Candidates
The Government of Ghana was created as a parliamentary democracy, followed by alternating military and civilian governments.
In January 1993, military government gave way to the Fourth Republic after presidential and parliamentary elections in late 1992.
The 1992 constitution divides powers among a president, parliament, cabinet, council of state, and an independent judiciary. The government is elected by universal suffrage.
Since independence, Ghana has been devoted to ideals of nonalignment and is a founding member of the non-aligned movement.
Ghana favors international and regional political and economic co-operation, and is an active member of the United Nations and the African Union.
The Government of Ghana has taken it upon itself to pay the fees of all 313,837 WASSCE 2020 candidates.
The President; His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo Addo disclosed this during his 12th address to the nation which was entitled “Measures Taken Against Spread Of Coronavirus“.
An amount of GHc 75.4 million according to the President, will be spent to cater for these students who have benefited for the free SHS policy. These students are the first batch of students to graduate from this policy by the Government of Ghana.
These batch of students will be known as “Akufo-Addo graduates”, said the President in his address to the nation.
His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo Addo pointed out the importance of education to the future of Ghana and reaffirmed his commitment to protect the lives of these students as well as teaching and non-teaching staff as school resumes.
Further, he indicated that 18,000 veronica buckets have been distributed to all schools. He also said each School should have one room as an isolation Center.
