The Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC) has reopened its Undergraduate Admission scholarship Application Portal for prospective candidates to apply.

The application process which was scheduled to commence on 2nd November 2020 was postponed to November 4, 2020. This saw many Undergraduate students visiting the official web portal on November 4 with the hope of putting in an application request.

Unfortunately, the Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC) postponed the scholarship application opening to a further date of 4th November 2020.

Although this got many applicants disappointed as their hopes of applying early was shattered, the corporation honored their promise and opened the scholarship application portal on the said date.

Applicants started the scholarship application process when the portal was indeed opened on 4th November 2020. Sadly, the admission scholarship application process was halted when the Ghana National Petroleum Corporation issued a press statement on November 10, 2020 about a further reschedule of the entire scholarship process.

In the press statement signed by Nanama Boatemaa Acheampong; Officer Media & PR, the cooperation stated that the admission scholarship application will have to commence on December 1, 2020.

The corporation stated that the decision came after consultation with Management regarding kinks to be ironed out on their portal as well as the issue of delayed WASSCE results of many prospective applicants.

The 2020 GNPC Foundation Scholarship is open to eligible Year One and Continuing Ghanaian students pursuing undergraduate studies at any accredited tertiary institution in Ghana.

The GNPC Foundation Scholarship covers tuition, accommodation, living expenses and learning materials.


  1. Applicant must be a Ghanaian.
  2. Must have obtained admission to pursue an undergraduate programme at a public tertiary institution.
  • Teachers and lecturers in STEM (to improve the teaching of STEM for capacity building).
  • Tutors pursuing English and Ghanaian Languages, TVET at technical Institutions, Nursing Training Colleges and Colleges of Education
  • Persons with disabilities (Applicants with any form of disability are required to upload medical certificate stating the level/seriousness of disability)


  1. Admission Letter
  2. WAEC Results or Certificate
  3. Testimonial
  4. Birth Certificate or National Identification Card
  5. Passport Picture


Application portal opens on 1st December, 2020 and closes on 31st December, 2020


All applications are to be done online (www.gnpcghana.org). Submission of hard copies of application will be rejected.

  • This facility does not apply to sandwich, part-time, private or fee-paying students in public tertiary institutions.
  • For applicants with any form of disability, upload of disability medical report as evidence
  • Continuing students are to upload their statement of results.
  • Applicants who enjoy any form of educational scholarship should not apply.
  • It is important that your eligibility for this scholarship award is based on accurate information.

Misrepresentation in any material form renders the application null and void. Any award made based on misrepresentation shall be withdrawn and if any investments are made based on the misrepresentation, the applicant may be asked to provide a refund or may face prosecution or both.
